An outstanding plant with masses of small, urn-shaped, deep pink flowers, maturing to magenta then crimson that smother the plant from January to May and contrast beautifully with the fine, dark green foliage. Low and spreading in habit, it is useful groundcover for sunny, well-drained areas of the garden and looks at home planted in bold drifts with other heathers. Useful for banks and slopes, small gardens, coastal, flower borders and beds, ground cover, patio containers or rock garden. Position: Suitable for most soil types. Thrives in full sun or light shade. Mix moist moss peat with existing soil before planting deeply, then firm in lightly. Water well for first Spring and Summer after planting. Flowering time: Winter through to Spring Mature Height/Spread: 15cm (6in) x 45cm (18in). Plant care: Keep moist, particularly in dry weather conditions. Trim to base of flower spike after flowering.
