FLORITURE: Osteospermum flowering is very long and goes from early spring to early colds; in autumn the plant yellows and dry but rejects every year, expanding like a upholstery. The plants reach 25-30 cm high, but the colour stain they create is increasingly widening.
TEMPERATURE: This plant is quite rustic, but does not withstand temperatures much below -5°C. In winter, it must be retired in a sheltered place, or protected with non-woven fabric by pruning the aerial part. It would be better to cover the roots to protect them from possible frosts.
Terrace-conscious: the Dimorfoteca loves loose, fertile soils, very well drained. The ideal substrate consists of a mixture of soil, peat, organic substances and sand to ensure proper drainage. Every 15-20 days provide flowering plant fertiliser dissolved in watering water to promote better development and more abundant flowering.
EXPOSURE - IRRIGATION: In the flowering period, the African Daisy needs to be watered regularly and constantly, especially during the days with high temperatures, while avoiding the formation of water stagnations that are very harmful to the health of this kind of plant. Dimorphoteca Pluvialis can easily withstand short drought periods.
