Morios or Super Giant Mealworms are bred from a different, larger beetle than regular Mealworms. However, they are equally nutritious and because they are fed a similar diet, they are an equally safe livefoods to use. Large, heavy bodied Lizards such as Breaded Dragons are attracted to the movement of Morios. Morios are extremely popular with Monkeys and other small carnivorous animals and larger birds.
Morios are so large that they can be placed one or two at a time on the floor of the cage/vivarium.
Morios should be kept in a warm, dry, dark place. Ideally at 16-20C. Temperatures below 14C will kill them.
Morios can be fed with oats, vegetables such as carrot, potato peelings etc but they are likely to be more nutritious if also fed with Progub to ensure gut loading with calcium.
