Mocassin Plant - Cephalotus Follicularis - 9cm Pot
A very unusual plant: Unlike other carnivorous plants, the Mocassin Plant is after crawling insects (ants or similar).
It forms 2 types of leaves; normal"" leaves during the winter, and the trapping leaves during the summer. The traps start out as small, hairy balls growing directly at the stem of the leaf. Unlike the other similar traps of the Pitcher Plants, these do not hang in the air, but are mostly embedded in the surrounding soil. The lid lowers when temperatures rise to reduce the evaporation of the valuable digestion fluids.
The Mocassin Plant has translucent ""windows"" in this lid - because of this, the victim doesn't notice that it has crawled too deep into the alleged nectar source already. Once it fell into the digestion juices, a smooth zone prevents the insect from crawling out of the fluid

Care
The Mocassin Plant grows very slow.
Repotting should be prevented because the plant doesn't tolerate it very much. It is better to just give it a big enough space right away.
The soil should always be moist, but not waterlogged.
It should be kept at approx. 25°C during the summer, it is in a phase of dormancy during the winter im Winter und should be kept at 10-15°C.
Only water with rain water or distilled water.
Tip:
Never fill water into the pitchers - also pay attention when watering
